Temporary Visas, Long Stay

If you intend to stay in Australia for an extended period, longer than 3 months, you can apply for a Temporary Visa, Long Stay. Some of these visas can also be applied for in Australia, and some will allow you to work, and others will not. Be careful what you apply for and make sure you are eligible.

A Permanent Visa will allow you to stay in Australia indefinitely. All Temporary Visas have a specified time limit on their validity. Make sure your visa does not become out of date, otherwise you will be illegally staying in Australia and can be deported.
