Family Sponsored Migration Visa (Subclass 882)

This visa is only for application while you are here in Australia – and you must be in Australia for visa grant.

If you are a recent graduate student of an Australian tertiary education institute, and you have close family members living outside the main city areas of Australia, such as Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Brisbane and Perth, you may be able to qualify for this visa. This is a permanent migration visa, to allow you to live permanently in Australia. Because you will be helping to improve Australia's rural economy and areas of low population, called Regional Areas, this visa is easier to obtain. There is no points test.

This visa is sent to the Australian Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA), cost AUD$1,990. The fee covers departmental processing, and is not a visa 'purchase price' as the department does not refund fees when they deny a visa. There are other costs for the visa, such as your skills assessment and your medical assessment, which together can be more than AUD$800.
